How to change the color of a plant?
Question:if a plant is growing and I want the plant to have a different color than the original color

I know that you can change colors of Hydrangeas from Pink to Blue by adding acidity in the soil. My supposedly blue, Nikko Blue hydrangea is Pink in my backyard because of the soil. I think it works on cut flowers by adding ink to water, but I am not sure it works to some other plants in the ground.
umm... nature is nature.. but sometimes.. like when i was little you could take flowers and put their stems in dyed water and that would change the color of the stem and flower!
Well to change the color you need to have food coloring in the water you give the plant. Duh
Aside from re-planting, obviously.? I've heard you can add copper or iron to the ground and it will change the colors of some flowers (hydrangeas, for example...)
What kind of plant? If it's a potted plant with green leaves, you could try using vegetable dye (food dye) in the water and see what happens.
But why would you want to?
If you want to change the color of flowers, just go buy a plant with different color flowers.
Don't water it and shade it from the light. It will turn brown very soon. Other than that, get a different plant with the color you want or see if it comes in whatever color it is that you want and replace it. There are no ways to change the colors but to do it genetically so unless you have the expertise for it, get another plant.
unless you want to change it to yellow or brown, there are no way to change a plant's colors. There are some special exception such as with big leaves hydrangea's flowers change color based on the pH level of the soil. The color of leaves of course con be change VERY slightly by adjusting the amount of sunlight it gets. don't try too hard with sunlight or you can kill your plant. and if you want to turn it yellow, then go ahead and let it die.(just a joke, no mean of offense :-) )
Some will respond to changes in the acidity of the soil, but not all
