Can I still mow lawn even if fertilizer still on grass?

Question:My husband put fertilizer on the grass about a week ago. Is it ok if I mow the lawn . The weeds is getting higher.

Answers:
It mostly depends on what form of fertilizer your husband used. If he layed the granuals (look like tiny pebbles) than the only thing you should worry about is the granuals being kicked up by the fan of the mower. The blades will most likely chop them into tinier pieces and maybe even hit your legs. However, if the granuals were water soluable (disolves in water) or he applied a liquid form and you've had a good rain, then you're totally ok. If no rain, then give the lawn a good spray with the hose, wait a day and then mow. Hope that this helps.

leave it for a week or so and mow it coz it's no point of putting fertilizer if u mow it in 1 week
Terrible answer from Mohammad.

The point of the fertilizer is not making the grass tall, it's making the grass greener.

If it's been a week you're fine. Just make sure and water the lawn afterwards.
