I need to know why my mandevilla plant leaves are turning brown and the blooms are all falling off?
Question:
Answers:
Mandevilla is prone to aphids which suck the juice out of its leaves and stems. The leaves will turn brown and fall off. Use a magnifying glass and look at your plant--aphids are tiny flat oval creatures that look like they have a lot of legs and they are usually in groups. If you see them, go to your garden supply store and get either a horticultural oil spray or aphid spray. They will tell you what you need.
Another problem may be that your plant got sunburned. They can take some sun but not full sun throughout the whole day. They also need to be watered fairly often during the hot months.
Good luck!
Mandavillas do well with some hot sun but not too much. Dont water in the heat of the day. They also need a low acid fertilizer.
Mandevillas need HEAT to bloom. They do best planted against a west facing wall with reflected heat from a walk or drive way.
Good Luck!!
