If I were to build a box to hold a yard of mulch what would be the measurments of the box?

Question:

Answers:
You aren't holding a "yard" of mulch, you are trying to hold a "cubic yard" of mulch.

Your box would be one yard cubed. That is one yard wide, one yard deep, and one yard high. (Three feet, by three feet, by three feet.)

nope.. 3 feet x 3 feet x 3 feet. 27 cubic feet. 1 yard.
3'x3'x3' is correct, but are you asking how much a yard of mulch will cover in the landscape? In the south we recommend 3" deep at least. So a yard of mulch will cover 12 cubic feet.
Not a lot of strong math going on here. Julie's right about the box dimensions. A cubic yard of mulch at 3" depth would cover 12 square yards of area. 36"/3"= 12 square yards or 108 square feet.
