How can I start growing and selling sod?

Wow, this is a very large undertaking. You will need lots of open space (acres) on relatively flat and very deep, fertile soil. All weeds will need to be eradicated and you will need an irrigation system made for such a situation (it can't leave ruts in the crop like you see in cornfields etc.). A special sod cutting machine is required when the grass has grown to the point that it can be harvested. This is only a small part of a full answer- meant to help you think about the scope of the question.
