I need to know what kind of flower i have growing in my garden.?
Question:it is very tall, app. 4-6 feet tall. has a very thick stem and it has leaves that resembles marijuana leaves, but the underside of the leaf is purple. toward the end of spring it blooms 1 beautiful red flower on the top of the stem.

It is hard to say but I agree your description sounds just like a castor bean plant (if it looks somewhat like a small tree). If this is the case, they are very pretty but the seeds can be deadly to animals and humans so make sure to remove & destroy the seed pods before they mature.
These pop up where I live, in central Texas.

there are a lot of possibilities but it could be a castor bean plant. is the flower single or a cluster of flowers.
