Is it bad to let your grass seed out?

Question:

Answers:
If you let your lawn 'seed' it means the grass is putting all it's energy into production mode rather than keeping green and healthy.

There is usually no reason why you would do this other than not wanting to mow it. So, save your lawn and put the mower to work...

Not if you like a plush, full yard of grass! :)
Typically letting grass "go to seed" does nothing for the grass at all. Usually grass that goes to seed needs to be cut and sometimes it will go to seed because it is stressed from a lack of water. You will see this when the grass appears to not really need cutting (judging from the height of it) but it has gone to seed. This is because it needs water and is stressed. Also be sure to not cut grass too short. That will also stress it and it won't retain moisture as well plus cutting the grass a little higher will help choke out weeds. Good luck!
yeah...it will find a lawn it likes better and your yard will be bare..need to keep it contained...maybe with a fence?.. :)
If you have some sparse places, it is a very good idea.
what on earth do you mean?
The main issue is just the height of the grass and the fact that you will have to bag it or trim it multiple times to get it back to a reasonable height. If you cut it with a regular lawn mover with a standard setting, you will have a lot of clippings in the lawn that lay on the other grass and kill it.
no, it actually could fill in thin spots and strengthen the lawn. do it in the spring and fall --- it takes too much energy away from the lawn in the summer
