Your flowers are doing exactly what they are supposed to do. Do not cut down or pull out the green and yellow leaves. This is what feeds the flower bulbs over the fall and winter. Make sure they are covered in the winter if it gets really cold, and wait for spring to enjoy!!
That is what they do, when they turn yellow just cut them back, they will be back next year. Good Luck.
Daffodils and tulips have the same growing habit. They bloom each spring from the energy they stored last summer in their bulb. The energy is passed thru the leaves to the bulb. You need to leave the leaves alone for 6 weeks after they have finished blooming. Then you can cut them off.
They will come back next year. You can add some bone meal to the soil around the bulbs to give them a boost for next year if you want to.
I always plant a hosta close to my daffodils so that when the leaves are dying back, they are camouflaged by the leaves of the hosta emerging.
That is quite normal, they grow their growth and bloom in spring, then die out and are dormant over summer. August and Sept are the best months to plant, and relocate bulbs. They will mostly be back next year. After 3 or 4 years, you need to dig up and divide.
Your Daffys are just doing their thing. Perfectly natural.
The Tu;ips may not have bloomed because you got them in late. They will probably bloom next season. I have found that Tulips are notorious for blooming only one season. The leaves will come back year after year but I only have one year of bloom. I dig them after the first blooms and put them on the compost pile. Plant new ones in the fall. Maybe I am not doing something I should :) The Daffodils always come back for me and bloom even more beautiful each year. Love 'em!
Your daffodils will only bloom once in the spring. After the leaves turn brown, gently pull them off. Never cut the leaves off when they are green. The leaves are putting the nutrient back in the bulb. Your daffodils will come back next spring.
