Go to your local hair salon and get some leftover human hair, sprinkle it all around your plants. The human scent will work great.
a shotgun! shoot them in the back so they flop around a while...
A bobcat?
Liquid Fence is best I've tried . Actually works! Made from "putrescent egg solids". They got the first part right! The smell disappears, to the human nose , in about 2 hrs , so not that bad .
A plant nursery or a coop should have what you are looking for.
A bar of Irish Spring soap willl work wonders. Just make sure it's the original. No aloe added and the original scent.
It is called Bobex, and can be purchased at Art Knapp stores
This is a question I have thought about for over a decade... I live deep in the woods and my garden is on the other side of a ridge from my house. I have tried most of the common things you hear about. Saw blades and pie pans hung from rebar that flash or make noise in the wind, deoderant soaps and so on. Mostly I have just planted more than I needed and hope to have something left for me because nothing worked for very long. Deer are pretty smart. The smells you can add to the garden will make them cautious of that spot for a short time and gradually they realize it is not a threat. This year I was seeing tracks in the garden everyday, as I was getting ready to plant. My garden is a half acre which is costly to put a 6 foot fence around so I decided to try an electric fence on 6 foot posts. Without ever hooking up power to the wire they stopped coming into my garden. That is the only thing that has ever worked for me. The only other thing that I have heard about is playing a radio in the garden. I have a friend that seen this with his own eyes. Deer near the garden but not in it. Alot of these cures for the problem I picture as someone saying this works, because it sounds possible, just to see if someone will do it or claims to sell a product. Good luck.
There's a product on the market called "Not Tonight Deer"; this is gross - but it works and it's free - human urine on a rag tied in the end of the sock in pantyhose--but you have to keep reapplying every four or five days.
If you want to try a more natural approach, try planting "P*I*S*S*-OFF PLANTS" I am sorry, but that is the trade name. They smell like a skunk when brushed upon and the deer, rabbits and even kids have stayed away from my garden for the last three years running.
I have also had sucess with a Shishi Odoshi which is a japanese deer scare which make for an interesting project and could be run with a solar powered recurculating pump.
I have also tried a motion sensored water sprinkler which also worked at first.
The problem with the latter two is that the animals I was trying to repel became used to the noise and even started to come to the sprinkler to drink and or bath!
Deer are herbivores and prey to us, wolves, etc. They shy away from blood and anything that smells like death. Bone meal (ground fresh bones from your local meat shop) with fresh blood (from streak or any meat) will keep the out.
What my family uses, and too great success with deer, is mountain lion pee. They buy it a plant nursery, although you can buy it online too. They sprayed it around the outside of the garden, and the deer have not been back. It stinks like crazy going on, but that fades (for us). You can also buy fox and coyote pee too. Any natural predator will scare the critters pretty bad
