My potato leaves have a bunch of small pinholes in them. What's causing it?

Question:The leaves on my potato plants look like they have a bunch of small pinholes on each leave. They aren't big holes like a Japanese beetle would make and Japanese beetles haven't hatched from their larvae stage yet so I know it isn't them. What could be causing it? Is it some disease or some small bug?

Answers:
Definitely flea beetles. They leave holes exactly like you describe. They are very small, and they hop off the leaves when you touch the plant, but then come back to do more damage. The best thing for those on an ornamental is a systemic insecticide, but we're talking edible plants here. If you use a systemic on those, you'll end up killing whichever of your friends eats the potatoes. My extension agent recommended Sevin to me when I had flea beetles on my turnips. At least I think tha'ts how it's spelled. It's just about the strongest thing you can use on an edible plant.

Aphids.
bugs
you need to dust them
use seven dust
Potato flea beetle.google it and you will probably find out how to treat the problem before it gets worse...every state has different regulations on what can be used...
some small bug or slug. But, seeing as it is not part of the plant I eat, leaving it alone is just fine by me. Other things have to eat too.
