When is the best time of day to water plants/newly planted trees? Should I water the leaves too or just base?

Question:

Answers:
Water them after sunset because the sun will burn off the water and damage your trees. You can water the leaves but it only needs it in the root system.

I water mine before noon so they have water before the heat of the day. Only water at the root of the plants or they will wilt in the sun. If you wanna spray all of it down (which I do every now and then.1 x a week) do it after the sun is slightly down. Like around 7-8 pm.
Morning is the best time to water.

Water the base. Be certain that you water the entire root ball area and not just at the bottom of the trunk. How much you water depends on your soil and how much natural rain has fallen. See the site below for more tips.

Good luck. I just love trees.
A lot depends were you live and what kind of plants.

The best is to water in the evening at about sun set or first thing in the morning. Just do not do it during the day when it is hot out and you will be OK.

Aslo make sure you "deep" water by socking the plaint every 3 -5 days depending on the Temp.

As for the leaves it is best to water at the base as watering the leaves can cause different dieses to form or if it is hot out is can scorch the leaves.

Roses and tomatoes should alwasy be watered at the base.
The best time is late afternoon or early evening that way the sun will be down or at least not hot bright and yes water the whole plant, the leaves will get any dirt or dust off them that way.
I do my watering in early morning just before sunrise or early morning, that way the moist ground doesn't attract the slugs and such, and reduces mold or mildew formation from the ground to the plant.
Spraying off a tree or plant once a week is also good to do spraying from the top, bottom and sides... keeps them clean and bug free, do that before or after the heat of the day.
Best time for watering plants/new or established.
Early morning as the sun is just rising, or evening as sun is setting. If you water during peak hours you will burn leaves and or petals.
Also when watering larger established plants, shrubs, trees make sure you fertilize.
Watering around the umbrella of trees helps with the trailers, main root goes straight down, trailers from the root branch outwards.
It is always best to water grass, trees and/or plants in the very early morning so that the water doesn't evaporate so quickly. Watering during the very early morning also gives the plant a chance to "dry off" during the day which is what you want because watering in the evening will not allow the plant to "dry off" and wet plants become diseased and weak. Another important watering tip is to remember to water deeply so that the roots will be trained to grow downward and deep. You should water fewer times for longer periods, in other words, maybe every other day for 30 minutes or so instead of 15 minutes every day. This is much better for the plant/tree and as I said will permit a much stronger and deep root system that will be healthier and won't dry out like a shallow rooted plant would. Good luck!
