When walking around our local reservoir we often smell aniseed, what wild plant smells of this.?

Fennel. A lovely plant. The cultivted ones come in green and bronze though the latter has no smell to speak of but is nice to look at.


The Aniseed plant
Could be Sweet Cicely - the seeds and leaves smell (and taste) of aniseed - but quite mild!
It could be Taragon also.
