I live in the mid south and have not planted any flowers yet. What flowers can I plant this late in season?

Question:I live in Memphis,Tn. and have not planted any flowers yet.I would like to plant some now even though it seems kind of late in the season. What plants and flowers would I be able to plant this late in the year?

Answers:
Go to the local garden store andd they can show you what will do well if it is planted right now. It is still not too late for many flowers and bushes.
I would strongly recommend that you add some root stimulator to the bottom of the hole before you place the flowers into it. This is available at most garden stores. It will help your flowers and plants "catch up" and help them quickly develop the root system they will need to suvive the hot periods just around the corner.

watermelons, tomatoes, corn, just about anything you want
dandilions
you can plant anything now. It may be best to use plants that are already growing (instead of seeds), but your garden will likely catch up quickly. Get planting!
