How to care for a lima bean plant?

Question:My son brought home a lima bean plant from a school project. It's pretty good size now and I want to know how to care for it. How often it needs watered, how much sun and so forth.

Answers:
Lima bean plants like full sunlight and they like lots of room to grow. If you have a garden outside, plant the lima bean plant there and place a tall stick (3 - 5 feet) or some type of trellis next to the plant. Lima bean plants like to climb things! As far as watering goes - they only need watering when the soil gets dried out - don't over water them. If you see the leaves looking a little wilted, you know you waited a bit too long between waterings. Have fun and enjoy your lima beans!
