How do i get rid of aphids on my roses?
Question:
Answers:
add a teaspoon of dish soap and a teaspoon of garlic powder to 1litre of water and spray onto roses
soap kills them and garlic keeps them away
get aphid spray.
buy some lady bugs
'multirose' treats aphids, blackspot and mildew.
Buy ladybugs at a local pet shop or gardening shop. Let them loose on your roses, and they'll eat the aphids.
My grandma always used dish soap and water and spray them off with a spray bottle
Get anti-aphid spray, or you can blast the bush with a jet of water. If you do the latter, though, you may damage the roses and won't be able to get rid of the aphid eggs. You can also buy ladybugs.
You can try a hard blast of water and see if that helps. Or, insecticidal soap
Easy way to try first is to hose them off with a strong garden hose spray.
If they come back there are sprays that are nicotine or strong-soap based (and you could even make your own version of them by soaking old cigarette butts in water or dissolving dishwasher powder in water) and slopping those on with an old paintbrush).
You can also try ladybugs although they are slower to have an effect on the aphids and you may lose roses in the meantime.
The most sufficent way I've noticed, is by attracting other bugs that prey on aphids. Plant some dill, fennel, coreopsis and any other bright colors attract insects that will take care of your aphid problem.
And of course you can always purchase Ladybugs which are great for getting rid of too many aphids
