the seed in Patch Perfect is a mix of fescue and rye (I believe) The rye will geminate relatively fast (7-10 days) to give you that green look that you want, but it is an annual. The fescue, which geminates slower and does not grow as fast, will be the one that comes back next year when it will completely cover the bare spot. It is the perrennial portion of the combo.
