What to plant that can't be killed by me?

Question:I need help... I need to plant some bushes along the walkway flowerbed. I need to know what to plant that is small, needs almost no maintanance, and is okay with a lot of sun.
Flowering bushes are prefered but I will take any advice, cause I seem to kill everything, no matter how hard I try.

Answers:
I completely agree w/ lantana. Some lantana plants are smaller than other types so be sure to investigate that before you buy. There is only 1 way to kill lantana (seriously) and that is to cut it back during the winter.

Lantana
If you want a plant that is nearly impossible to destroy, you can try Japanese Bamboo. It's not a true bamboo, but it is persistant and hard to get rid of once it's established. I highly reccomend planting it in containers to keep it from spreading into the surrounding environment. It likes to wander, and you don't want your neighbors yards to be invaded by your plants.
Try this approach. The native plants in your area get by just fine with no maintenance, extra water, fertilizer, or other help from humans. They are perfectly adapted to your local seasons, soils, rainfall, pests, climate, etc. There are often hundreds of natives to consider, many of which can be very attractive.

Consider contacting your local argicultural department, native plant society, or Master Gardener organization and see if there are some native plants that will fit into your landscape. They will help you pick the right native plant for your location, and give advice on how to plant it and care for it when young.

You will have to plant them and probably give them a bit of water at the start, but once they get going there will be little you have to do.
