What can cause plants to die suddenly?

Question:We just recently planted flowers in a hanging basket, probably about 3 or 4 days ago, and now all of a sudden, they are all slumped over and dieing. Is there any reason for this? We can't seem to figure it out. HELP US PLEASE?

Answers:
ok! make sure that the plant gets enough sunlight, water, fertiliser and all the things a plant need to grow.

round up!
it could be lack of oxygen, sunlight or water.
or maybe it should have been in the ground before it went in the basket so it could get the nutrients it needs from the soil.
Watter the dam things, and move them out of the dirict sun lite it,s a killer. And use better potting soil [next time]

too much water, too little water

too much sun, too little sun

If they were given fertilizer and you don't, they will know it.

Some flowering plants only live so long and they could be something that is near its end.

Remember that "full sun" does not really mean that it needs sun from dawn to dusk.
Check closely to make sure they really are dying, because a transplanting like that can some times cause a bit of a set back. If it is just transplant shock, then some extra TLC and water will help. Plants in a hanging planter need much more water than you think!
If they are really dying suddenly, then it's some kind of trauma. Transplant shock could be the cause, but usually there is another problem. Perhaps you broke the stems when transplanting? or someone might have poisoned the plants by mistake. I'm betting it's just the trauma of transplanting and with a bit of extra care, they will be fine.
good luck!
