What's wrong with my petunias?

Question:They were thriving and all of a sudden on one particular plant the petals have these grey spots on them. It almost looks like they were splattered with paint. (they were not) Any ideas? There doesn't seem to be any bugs on them.except for these annoying black beetles that seem to be all over my yard, especially my palm tree. How do I get rid of those? And what's up with my petunias? Help, please?

It sounds like some kind of fungus. If nothing else, try a fungicide solution from the local garden center. If you live in an area that has been experiencing higher than normal precipitation, the extra moisture could be the problem. If all else fails you can pull few of the plants and replant from starters as this really works well year round. Fertilize the petunias once a week for optimum flowering and growth. Water at least twice a week on a regular schedule.
Is it possible you splattered water on the petunia's? I've seen them do something like this when I accidentally got water on the leaves when it was very hot outside. If they get too ugly, try clipping or pinching them back to just above the new growth. They should come back nicely.
