Vegtable Garden question?
Question:I am going to attempt to start a bin vegetable garden. What size bins should I use and what plants do well in them?
Answers:
The sizes vary depending on what you want to grow. You could grow lettuces and radishes in flower boxes, but a five gallon container will generally support only one tomato plant. We have a list of vegetables and container sizes at our website-

gotta know where you live. To find out, try doing the research yourself.
I use pots for my container garden that range in size from 15"-24". Also, windowboxes work great for things like lettuce and radishes. Hope that helps.
i grow three tomato plants in a half-wine barrel. lettuce, other greens, herbs and strawberries in window boxes- the bigger the better. put them in the sunniest spot you can find- and use the best compost you can find.
experiment with different veggies, you'll figure out what grows best in no time.
Use bins/pots that are well draining and of an appropriate size for the veggies you are growing. I have hard clay so I grow my garden in containers. I use a 14" pot for each tomato plant. I stake the plants from the ground around the container. With proper fertilizing and watering, most plants will grow well.
