How to plant pachysandra.?
Question:
Answers:
It's real easy to plant. Dig shallow holes, water the holes. When the water is soaked in, put in the pach plants, cover with some dirt, water again, and you're done!
It's hard to kill pachysandra; they're as strong as weeds.
This is a great ground cover. Dig your holes with a spade or shovel if the ground is hard. Mix a little mushroom compost in with your soil. The mushroom compost acts as an organic fetilizer for one year. Take the pachysandra out of the plug or pint containers and loosen their roots gentley. You don't want to damage them. Put in the ground put don't put any ground cover or plant too deep. Cover the Pachasandra up, but don't mount the dirt too high. Take a hose and with just a little water pressure soak the roots. For the first couple of weeks, make sure the plants don't dry out, but don't over wather either. Pachysandra does well and you should be able to enjoy it. I hope this helps and good luck! DON'T!!
Invasive, exotic, will spread everywhere.
There are many nice, well-behaved native plants that will fit the bill. Check the web for Prairie Nursery, Prairie Frontier or any native plant nursery.
Native plants are better for the environment and require less work, water and fertilizer to grow well.
