Can I grow tomatoes and cucumbers in the same soil ??
Question:
Answers:
Yes, we have both growing in our raised garden beds.
The tomatoes each have a wire tomato cage around them for support purposes bec as they grow taller, the tiny yellow flowers will turn into tomatoes. The more flowers and tomatoes that are on each branch/vine, if the branch is not routed through the metal cage which provides support, it could easily break and snap.
My wife plants the cucumbers in the back along a straight line using a different kind of metal wire frame trellis that could fold into 4 but she stretches it out and the metal legs stick into the soil. As the cucumber plant grows, it will send runners out that will twist and wind their way around the trellis. Likewise the yellow flowers will grow and form into tiny cucumbers and get bigger & bigger.
Of course. Tons of people do.
Absolutely. No issues with growing them side by side in a garden.
someone mentioned trellises which are great or plant them in mounds...look into companion gardening which will let you know what vegetables go well or don't do well with others
