Blueberry or Huckleberry Shrub?

Question:can anyone here explain any characteristic differences between the Blueberry and Huckleberry shrub? Its too soon to tell by fruit and number of seeds. Anyway, to my eye the two look so similar. Also, do huckleberries need to cross-pollinate to set fruit? Thanks!

Answers:
Huckleberry (Gaylussacia) - 10 hardened seeds inside each berry. Smooth stems. Native to the eastern and southeastern United States.

Lowbush Blueberry (Vaccinium angustifolium and vacillans) Part of the Heath family with plants such as laurel, rosemary, and cranberry. These have warty stems. They have white, five-lobed, bell shaped flowers. The berries have soft seeds.

Western huckleberries belong to the genus Vaccinium.
Vaccinium membranaceum Douglas ex Hooker, is the one I know here in the PNW.

Eat both of them and see what is what.
