What kind of flowers should i plant?

Question:I want to plant them in my backyard, which gets lots of sunlight. Easy too manage...and lots of color.

Answers:
If you've got lots of sun and you're kind of new to plants, I'd go with some easy perennials... they'll come back in the following years and won't cost you as much as planting annuals. Some hardy perennials that I like are snapdragons, delphinium, chrysanthemums, sweet william... and I always have bulbs planted like tulips, daffodils and irises. Geraniums are also very hardy and have long blooming times as do the snap's. Geraniums can be overwintered in your garage or if your climate is mild they can be mulched in the ground and will come back next year. Roses are nice, but can be a bit of work with pruning and pests and if you're a newbie, that can be frustrating! Goodluck!

I would plant roses--lot of them.
Gardenia bush.
Lillies, they come back every year and multiply.
dahlia's,sunflowers, cosmo's, delphina, shasta daisies these are all tallish types of flowers that bloom in July and August
Orchids. I know people say it's hard, but I have two plants and I don't even need to water them :D they usually bloom after rain.

Another one that I really like are plumerias! They grow to trees and you just have to water it, it smells great.
I like the kinds of flowers that spread and take over because it cuts down on weeding... plant violets... creaping phlox... I also love the look of medow sage and blue fescue... then among all of that plant bulbs so you get the early spring blooms... try to plant enough variety to get blooms throughout the season and you will love your back yard... Good Luck... I wish I could help you... :-)
