What is this mold on my bermuda grass?

Question:There are shoots of grass topped with mold coming out of our bermuda grass. Anyone know what this is, how it got here, and how to get rid of it. The kids and dog get covered in it when they are out playing. Help!!

Answers:
the mold is in "ka-hoots" with nearby oaks that do not care for your bermuda grass.

bermuda grass sucks for more reasons that I care to write about

replace it with white clover. it is just as durable, the oaks will actually benefit from it, it requires about 1/100th of the water that bermuda does, it can be mowed just like grass and it will also contribute to the health of all other surrounding plants

Do you water at night or in the morning? If you water at night, I would stop. They say that watering at night causes mold because the water doesn't set into the ground as well as if you do it in the morning, when the days heat will help get rid of the water, while at night it just stands there.
