Help?!!?!!?

Question:I am working on a community service project and will be ripping out and cutting back a number of plants and then planting new ones that will grow better and with less maintnece. My problem is that at the moment there is a gravel walk way that is worked on the floor of the garden in an "S" shape and i would like to make it into a half donut shape. It is lined with ordinary lining stones but i dont know how to properly move the gravle so as to not upset the area around it. Is there any technique to pulling out the gravle or reshaping it in a different shape?

Answers:
Without knowing the size of the gravel it's a bit tough to come up with a solution. If under two inches then I would use a garden rake (not a leaf rake) and flat shovel.

Use a tarp to temporarily store the raked/shoveled gravel. After your done removing the gravel then reposition the "lining" (border) stones.

When the desired format is achieved then move your gravel and rake smooth.

To keep low maintenance lay some anti-weed landscaper fabric before redistributing the gravel. Costco typically sells large rolls very inexpensively.
