Can you cut off the aerial roots of house plants? e.i. Monstera?

Question:

Answers:
It should stand it. It may keep it small.

Philodendrons like Monstera will grow new shoots even if the head is cut off. At least in the tropics they do.

Since these can grow hundreds of feet long in the wild, aerial roots are needed to provide nourishment. In the house they are well fed. So, it will not matter much.

Why cut them? they are an attractive feature and natural to the plant?

yes
