How do I get rid of aphids in my garden?

Question:I tried a spray insecticide, which helped, but didn't totally get rid of them.

Answers:
There's a great product manufactured by Bayer...which is sold as "Bayer Advanced Tree and Shrub Insect Killer". The active ingredient is called; "Imidaclorprid", and it is mixed with water and then applied as a soil drench where the roots will absorb and then translocate it to the foilage.

It is very effective against whiteflies, aphids, mealybugs, scale, and other sucking insects (except mites). One application will last 12 months or more. I've used it on all my plants, trees and shrubs and have success against black aphid, scales and whiteflies. It is very safe and does an excellent job!

I would advise purchasing the concentrate rather than the ready-to-use. You can find this product at almost any hardware or garden shop.

GOOD LUCK!

ivory soap flakes in warm water spray plant and rub down stalks and leaves.. this should work.. Also change soil and replant if you can
Try a systemic insecticide which last several weeks.
Use an empty spray bottle and mix dish soap and water together. Use this solution to spray onto your plants. You will have to keep up with it as it will wear off with watering and dew, but it is very safe. It coats the aphids and prevents them from breathing. It also coats the plants and prevents the aphids from re-establishing themselves.
Insecticidal soap.

found at most home improvement stores
(home depot, Lowe's, ace)

Just follow the directions on the bottle.
Go to home depo or lowes garden area. buy praying mantis egg sack. let it hatch in your garden. they will eat up any little pest. Its a natural way and mantis do not bother your plants or you.
A safe and friendly to plants and people way is to mix some dish washing liquid soap in plain old water " put enough soap in the water that you can feel it fairly slimy between your fingers". Spray the bugs with the solution be sure to spray Under leaves as aphids like to hide there as well.
This method just suffocates the bugs ( Any Kind of Bug ) ! ! !
Plus it isn't toxic to People or pets.
Mixing Dawn soap and water is really the best way. You won't be killing off your "good" insects and it isn't harmful to the birds, lizards or frogs.
Get some twist type chewing tobacco and soak it in water until it makes a strong "tea." Strain that through some paint strainers, thin it down a bit with water, mix a little liquid dishwashing detergent in it, and (if you want) put some urine in it and spray the plant all over.
