Need help getting rid of White Flies?
Question:I have white flies real bad in my shrubs. So far I cannot tell that they are causing any damage, however they are a real nuisance. Has anyone had any luck getting rid of them?
Answers:
spray them with insecticidal soap, you can get it at your garden center of stores like walmart ,home depot
Try really soapy water srayed on the leaves. tops and bottoms. Also put foil under your plants then the white flies will think that its the top of the leaf and maybe move away. They always go to the shade.
There's a great product manufactured by Bayer...which is sold as "Bayer Advanced Tree and Shrub Insect Killer". The active ingredient is called; "Imidaclorprid", and it is mixed with water and then applied as a soil drench where the roots will absorb and then translocate it to the foilage.
It is very effective against whiteflies, aphids, mealybugs, scale, and other sucking insects (except mites). One application will last 12 months or more. I've used it on all my plants, trees and shrubs and have success against black aphid, scales and whiteflies. It is very safe and does an excellent job!
I would advise purchasing the concentrate rather than the ready-to-use. You can find this product at almost any hardware or garden shop.
GOOD LUCK!
