Mystery tree?

Question:At my son's home in Hawthorne, CA, a tree sprouted up about 2 years ago next to the house. It has grown as high as the roof, leafs in spring and now has small fruits on it that look like raspberries, but it's definitely a tree and not a vine. Does anyone know what this is? I took pictures and will try to figure out how to add them when I get a chance.

if the berries are green then turn a dark purple then they are mulberries. and they fall to the ground or birds eat them! the berries look like really tiny grape bunches about half inch long?
