Wisteria didn't bloom?

Question:

Answers:
Wisteria can take years to bloom.

Wow,Patrick what did you do? Did you cut it back too far last year?? Well, mine is huge and flowering, even if my neighbor does say it smells like cat urine. They are to look at not smell. So, basically, this is a 'yeah, my cable is off too' kind of responses. I don't know what happened to yours. But, I don't allow my husband to groom it either.
Maybe you pruned it at the wrong time. There are three times for trimming of Wisteria based on when the variety blooms bloom early , summer & late summer.

Growing Wisteria, HYG-1246-94
Wisteria is notorious for that , esp in the northern edges of it's range . If you didn't trim it much since last ( early ) August , wouldn't worry about it . How old is it? If it's less than 10 yrs old , can't expect much from it. What's the light situation? If it's in too much shade , it won't bloom reliably . Fertilize it with bulb food (lightly , & once /yr) . Poke a shovel into the ground , here & there , near the outer limits of it's roots ( best guess ) That can provoke an "Oh no! I'm gonna die . Better reproduce NOW!" response . Works on other reluctant bloomers also. If it still fails to bloom next yr ( assuming it's old enough) try hitting it with a baseball bat (lightly tap trunk, with something ;D ) Have seen that work , on wisteria & apples . (Done by a PSU extension agent, no less!) Good Luck
Watch your nitrogen. Sometimes feeding wisteria with too much nitrogen causes lots of green growth but very little or no blooming. Did it ever bloom? Often, wisterias that were created from seed have a hard time blooming. Make sure when you purchase wisterias you find out how they were started.
