Is there a cement like compouind that spreads dry?

Question:I have a stone patio and wondered if there's a better way to fill the gaps than with your typical sand fill

Answers:
Yes, there sure is and it is exactly what I am going to do to my newly laid stone patio. It is called Quik-Crete and you can find it at Lowe's or probably any home improvement store. Just pour it over your stones and sweep it into the cracks and water it with a hose and you will have instant cement grout.

You can fill the gaps with topsoil and plant low-growing ground cover in them. Just a few plants here and there to start and soon it will all spread out to fill in.

Good choices are hen and chicks or creeping thyme. Creeping thyme is my favorite, as when people walk on them, they scuff up the leaves and the thyme scent fills the air.

I've done this for customers in my landscaping business and they love it.

A good nursery or greenhouse will have suggestions on what plants would be suitable for your area.
You could just spread the dry mix, sweep it between the stones and then water it. My dad does this with his paver walks and it seems to work quite well.
