How can I (and should I) get rid of June Bugs?

Question:Our two dogs seem miserable outside since a massive hoard of June Bugs have taken over the lawn. I've also noticed we seem to have an abundance of gnats in our backyard as well. Should I get rid of the June Bugs, or are they perhaps going to take care of the gnats? If I should get rid of them, what's the safest most effective way to do it without harming our dogs. Thanks!

Answers:
you can buy traps at wal-mart and they work!

June bugs are basically innocuous, and there isn't much reason to try to get rid of them.
Both answers are good ones. The only way to get rid of Junebugs is to treat the soil to try to kill the grub that will become a Junebug. But that is a drastic measure that probably shouldn't be taken.
