I want to plant some flowers and i know i need to do some diggin first?

buy local newspaper, look for gardener about 6 quid an hour, hire him/her for a couple of hours a month and work him/her like a dog.

If your pot planting for the porch?.Easy...Get some planters (pots) size for porch:
Buy some soil..buy 2 big sacks o soil, If You have some left over you put it in the garden.
If you wanna have flower yard-garden then everyone gonna tell you to have a raised garden but if you mix bought soil with your ordinary soil with a hoe you get same results!
No need for lawn timbers and laying down black tarp...just feritliize what you have and mix it up!
