How do I keep my pepper plants from growing tall and spindlie (sp?).?

Question:My plants are in well drained soil and are in full sun. Should I clip back leaves or pull off early buds.

Answers:
The best way to keep them compact rather than tall and spindly is to pinch off the topmost set of leaves. That will remove the apical bud, which produces a hormone that suppresses development of other buds, and allow the lateral/axillary buds to start developing.

cut back on the water.
Pinch off early blooms that will help it to bush out more. More nutrients will go to the maturing of the plant instead of trying to grow the blooms.
Exactly as Dances with Unicorns stated...pinch back
yes, pinching back blooms on any plant will help it in getting bushier...
To get almost any plant to bush instead of growing tall, remove the growth tip. This is the uppermost part of the plant where new leaves form. When this is removed, the plant will produce branches on the main stem. You will sacrifice pepper size if you try to create too many branches. Don't pinch more than just the main stem.
