Have plant basket that is run down. Could a nursury or florist clean it up?
Question:My grandfather passed away about 2.5 years ago. I was given one of the plant baskets that somebody bought for the funeral as something to remember him by. The plants have gone wild. Some have died. Others have grown extremely tall while others are kind of like vines and have spread out all over the place. Would a florist or nursery be able to 'clean up' this plant basket for me? It's looking kinda raggedy, but means a lot to me. When I see it I think of my grandfather.

Try salvaging what you can and breaking them up into their own pots for a while. Sometimes plants just need the breathing room to get some life back into them.
Yes, you could do that, but you could also do it yourself, just take the plants out that are in there, get some potting soil and then go and look for some small plants that you like. You can save some of the plants that are in there, just repot them in their own pots.
You're gonna need good quality potting soil or even better, if you can find it, worm castings, or vermicast. These things are absolutely loaded with nutrients for plants, and they also time-release nutrients and water to make sure the plants get what they need when they need it. You can find this stuff at www.1800TOPSOIL.com or call 1-800-TOPSOIL to see if they service your area. I've used these guys in two states - they're national - and I'm very happy with them. I'm sorry about your grandfather, and good luck with the keepsake.
You have a couple options, you can either cut the "wild" ones down or the best thing would be for you to take some of the bigger "wild" ones out of the basket and transplant them into another basket or outside. Though if it's a planter basket garden, mostl likely those plants are mostly indoor plants, which will not do to well outside. Thats my 2 cents.
