What's wrong with my green Bell peppers?

Question:I plant green peppers each year. The plants get about 2 and a half to 3 feet tall. Lots of little peppers, but they never get to be big peppers. They also have very thin walls. They don't get real fleshy inside.

I fertilize with Miracle Grow weekly and put lime around the plants about every month.

What are they missing??

Answers:
One of the major mistakes that people make with peppers is to give them too much water. Unlike tomato's, peppers doe not need much water, especially when they are young.

They are not getting enough sunlight. Don't use so much lime and move them to a sunnier location.
I have no idea what the answer to your question is, I just love your picture. Thanks for the smile!
1 they need to touch each other 2 need lots of heat put some aluminum foil on the ground 3 don't put no more lime down 4where were they in the garden last year you need to move them year after year so they are not planted in the same spot if the bugs get bad just dust the plant with lime
Why are you liming your peppers every month? Is your pH really low? Lime only twice a year based on a soil test for pH and highly acidic soil.

Stop using Miracle Grow weekly! Nitrogen forces vegetative growth at the expense of fruit & flowers. All your plants energy is going into growing foliage. Caution must be exercised when side dressing peppers with fert. More harm is done over fertilizing peppers. Side dress with a balanced, slow release fert only after peppers have set fruit and then only judisiously.

All yellow leaves can be a sign of too little water or too much water. Peppers like a uniform supply of water through the growing season. Do not overwater your peppers.

Iron or magnesium deficiency shows as yellow leaves with green veins.

Fruit & flower production are tied to phosphorous.

Peppers are a warm season plant. They do not grow well in cold wet soils. In fact when night time temps are 50 - 55 degrees F or lower, the plants grow very slowly and their leaves turn yellow. Flowers may drop as well.
