Can you use food coloring in an outside pond with stones?

Question:We have a small pond outside of our house. I was wondering if food coloring (to make it pretty) would dye the stones. I have seen the fountains in our city use food coloring.

Answers:
nope but you can try aqua-doc wjich will last longer

It depends on the type of stones. If the stones are porous they will easily absorb the color. Can you contact your city office and ask them about the type of color that they use in the fountains?
