Poisonous frogs?

Question:We live in North Florida and have a frog on our back porch and my daughter wants to pick it up. Can frogs be poisonous or is it just toads? If they are not poisonous, can they irritate the skin or cause other adverse effects? He's dark and smooth and looks harmless. Thanks!

Answers:
He's probably fine- if your daughter's old enough to understand she has to wash her hands afterwards and doesn't stick her fingers in her mouth, let her check him out.
