How to grow a flower?
Question:i need help in the garden on growing a plant. like when is the best season to grow plants? and how many time do u need to water the plants a day? or like what kind of soil is good for the plant?
Answers:
It depends on what type of plant you want to grow. Some like sun, some like shade. Some need watering everyday, some not very much at all. Some like acidic soil, some like sandy soil, some like clay soil. As for the season, it depends on how you are planting your flowers. If you are planting from bulbs or seeds, this needs to be done in the spring. However, if you are doing your garden via transplant, you can do this any time. When you buy seeds or plants, it will usually include a card that describes the care for the plant.
Some plants I would reccomend for a first time gardener include sunflowers (very very easy, and so pretty! They also attract lots of beautiful birds and other wildlife to your yard). Another easy choice is wildflowers. In the spring, many garden shops (as well as stores like Walmart, and Dollar Tree) sell bags or boxes of mixed wildflowers. Two year ago, I bought a little yellow box of wildflower seeds at the Dollar Tree, and sprinkled them in an area behind my shed that is not good for growing much. I did not expect them to grow. The only watering was from rain. The area gets lots of sun in the morning, and shade in the afternoon. Those wildflowers have come up two years in a row. It is a pretty mix of cornflowers (little blue flowers), black eyed susans (these kind of look like mini sunflowers), daisies, baby's breath, and nasturtium (little orange flowers -- these are edible, and are delicious in a spinach salad by the way).
Gardening is lots of fun. Don't be afraid to experiment with different plants. The worst that can happen is that the plants will die and you'll have to dig htem up and start over...
All plants are different when you are buying the flower it will indicate when the best time to plant is.
If you go to a nursery or some place like Lowes you will be safe in the types of plants to put in your garden. They only carry what is to go in the ground at a particular time. In most of the plants, there is a little plastic tag that tells you all the information you need to know about planting your flower. Be careful if you want something to come back every year or if you want something that dies at the end of the season and you have to replant it. All of that information will be made available to you. Good luck. I love gardening.
Hi!
I have a few questions before I can be of any use...
1. what's the plant you speak of? ...are you talking about just any plant?
2. what part of the country or world are you in?... the seasons, and the water, soil and light needs vary from area to area.
3. tell how much time and effort you are willing to expend; tell what kind of soil you have (clay? sandy?), what type of soil? (acid soil, alkaline soil...)
Resubmit the question with these facts included, and I'll bet you'll be inundated with really good answers!
Best of luck!
