My lawn has 4 Fairey Rings of different sizes, how can I get rid of them?

The fairy rings are composed of fruiting bodies attached to a mycelium structure(root) in much the same way as mushrooms grow. The fruiting bodies depend on a supply of nitrogen rich minerals to grow and multiply,if you look in the middle of the ring you will notice that the grass looks very weak and sickly compared to the grass immediately outside the ring. One way to get rid of the rings is to spread a high nitrogen fertiliser just inside the ring a little at at a time .Eventually the ring will shrink to reach the nitrogen it needs, when this happens repeat the procedure until the ring shrinks to a size that can be dug out. with a spade in one go.Dig out about a foot of soil with the turf to ensure that all the mycelium threads are removed.Fill the hole with fresh seed and rootzonemix(soil) or re turf.It will take a while to achieve but their are no nasty chemicals used which might pollute the environment. There used to be a product available in the u.k called Ringaway which could be sprayed on the rings but I believe it was withdrawn by the E.U.
try and get your dog to piss on them it kills all the grass in my garden aswell as the weeds
There are several ways to mask fairy rings and there are certain fungicides that claim to kill fairy rings but the most fool proof solution is to remove all the soil from the top 30 cm and lay down new soil.
My own thought on this was feed the lawn to hide it. I've had a quick look on the net and see that that is an option. some useful links below:-

There used to be a chemical on the market to get rid of fairy rings but was removed for H&S reasons!!, think the only thing you can do now is to remove the area and replace, with either new turf or grass seed.
Walk round the garden saying 'I don't believe in fairies' over and over - apparently that gets rid of the blighters...
they don't cause a problem, so I would leave them alone
leave them they are very lucky!!!!!!!1
