My grass has a virus, help?

Question:

Answers:
I agree with the group. Your problem is probably something else. Give us more information. Where do you live? What type of grass do you have? Why do you think you have a virus? Detail is key here. Do you have dead spots? What size and shape are they. Do you see anything "growing" on the grass? How often do you water? What height do you mow your yard? Without being able to see your problem you will need to give us as much info as possible. Posting photos would be a huge help.

Good luck. Hope we can help.

spray your grass with norton.
You'll probably need to buy the 2007 Norton Ani Virus program and run a full system virus scan.
I know of only one virus in grass and that's SAD.St. Augustine Decline. There is no cure. You can try growing SAD resistant strains.

Most other diseases are fungus...a few bacterial.

Contact your Cooperative Extension Agent for help making decisions about your lawn. (we are assuming lawn grass, right?)
not event the best horticulturists can diagnose a virus without looking thru a microscope ...and if they do that...they can surely tell you how to correct it...

be more specific about the symptoms, how often you water... you could possibly have a disease... or bug problem. but virus i doubt
If your virus happens to be fairy ring then I use Epsom salt mixed in water can and apply liberally to the area. It will get rid of the bacteria in the area and the ring will be gone in a short time. You can apply every 2 days for a week. It definitely will not harm the lawn and will indeed help it.
