What plants grow best in the shade in the northeast?

Question:I have quite a bit of shade around my house and one large flower bed in almost complete shade. What can I plant that will grow and have flowers this growing season?

Answers:
impatiens grow well, and you can get double impatiens that resemble small roses. they're just lovely.

also, try lily of the valley, hosta (hundreds of varieties), vinca (excellent ground cover with cute purple flowers).

good luck!

Ajuga or Impatients do well. Ajuga is a ground cover and will fill in your flower bed. Impatients are an annual and will die out in the fall but well watered will bloom all year
