Any suggestions for a flower bed that won't grown anything?

Question:When I moved into my house the soil was great and plants grew very well now everything is dying any thoughts?

Answers:
My cousin had the same problem, and it ended up being the topsoil. It's actually quite common if you try to plant plants or flowers or vegetables in topsoil. You should probably get some GOOD QUALITY potting soil, or, if you can find the stuff, worm castings a.k.a. vermicast. This stuff is so loaded with nutrients, your plants should thrive beautifully. And whereas topsoil clumps up and gets hard and allows your plants to either dry or drown, potting soil and worm castings time'release water and nutrients to ensure that your plants get what they need when they need it. If you're planting veggies DO NOT use the worm castings. Though they have even more nutrients than potting soil, they can attract worms that may eat your vegetables. You can get some of this good stuff at www.1800TOPSPOIL.com or call 1-800-TOPSOIL to see if they have a local member in your area. If they do, they can most probably help you with anything related to landscaping. They got members all over the country and they're good. Good luck!

Take a spade and dig the soil dumping it back into the hole it came from. Then get some peat moss, or manure enriched topsoil. Spade the soil again mixing the componets together. Now plant
Since plants did well at first, look for changes in your environment. Chemicals such as herbicides could have drifted into the bed. Tree growth could make the area too shady now. Nearby construction can impair drainage, inviting soil born diseases and fungi. Overwatering and poor drainage are the most likely culprits.
Clean out the bed and lay down a weed cloth and then start from scratch with the dirt and flowers. You may have some pretty bad stuff in your soil so it will be better to start over in your flower bed.
