Another weed killer to go with is Triple Threat Selective broadleaf weed killer. Poison Ivy is a broadleaf weed.

if you are talking about chinese privet, the best thing is to kill both the poison ivy and the bush. I am not the one to ask a question like that, I hate privet - I would kill the privet and keep the poison ivy, but that is because it does not bother me.
I use Round-up but any good herbicide will do. I take a small paint brush and lightly paint as many poison ivy leaves as I can. You don't need to paint every leaf as the Round-up will enter the plants system and kill roots and all. RScott
