How to prevent bullfrog got into my pond? How to get rid of the tadpole they just laid?
Question:There is a small pond we built in the backyard of a house in Texas. Lately a bullfrog came making a lot of noise annoying our sleep. We found it and killed it. Now a lot of tadpole in the pond, which we are using for fishes, showed up. What do you suggest us to get rid of them and prevent this to happen in the future?
Answers:
The fish will eat the tadpoles, otherwise, you will just have to live with the frogs. You could fish out as many as you can using a minnow net, if this would help.
Get ear plugs or close the window. Frogs are good for the yard. They eat bugs. I wish I had some frogs.
Ponds are natural habitats for frogs, turtles, fish, dragon flies, mosquitoes, etc. I have trouble understanding why you did not anticipate these creatures moving into your 'private' pond. Unfortunately they do not read 'no trespassing' signs. You also scored a thousands points here by telling the world that you just killed an innocent creature because it was 'annoying' you.
I am not any kind of tree hugger or animal activist, but I do have a sense of respect for the other species on the planet. Your view on this is like saying that you planted a tree and then birds landed in it without permission and are tweeting too loud.
'Nuff said'
Fill in the pond - it's the only way to keep frogs out.
I'm sorry that you felt you had to kill the frog instead of relocating it.
Congratulations, you just made it to the top of my S.H.I.T list for the day!! RScott
I hope they all live to be bullfrogs and haunt you for killing their father.
