Hemp seeds (for fibres)?
Question:is it legal to grow hemp on allotments for the purpose of harvesting for fibres
if so where can i buy seeds

You cannot grow Hemp. It is illegal in the UK and the council may come and rip it all up and then charge you for it...I saw it once on a TV programme! They burned all the hemp and all of the workmen were REALLY close to the smoke...for some reason.
Different states have different laws on this. Contact your state's Department of Agriculture.
And just for those who want to say it's illegal for obvious reasons:
Hemp is a different plant. (cannabis ruderalis) The flowers are quite different from other cannabi.
I don't believe it is legal because if it was then anyone could say they just need it for the fibers and then use it to smoke.
They do sell hemp in the bulk for fabric though.
You can grow industrial hemp. It's basically the same but has no side affects.
I just found this link, but I haven't looked at it properly, you know, don't know if it will help. Even cannabis seeds aren't illegal, in the UK anyway. Until I plant them.

I don't know about the legality of growing it but fishing tackle shops sell hemp seed for bait. The fishermen boil it first of course but they buy it in its raw state so I assume it would grow.
