Is there a crabgrass killer for St. Augustine Grass?
Question:Hi there,
My lawn is pretty much weed feed with exception of crabgrass, which is growing in some of my barer spots in my backyard. It's really stubborn to get rid of. I'm thinking of getting a killer for it, but every crabgrass killer I find is not safe for St. Augustine Grass. Any advice?

Scotts Halts Crabgrass Preventer is a preemergence that is labeled for the control of crabgrass and is compatible with St. Augustinegrass. Here is its label : http://www.scotts.com/media/media/pdf/pr...
I also could not find a commercial or non-commercial postemergence product labeled for the control of crabgrass in a St. Augustinegrass lawn. Your best bet is the use of a preemergence for control. If you miss that opportunity, water & then pull your crabgrass by hand. Wish I had better advice.
No problem. Crabgrass Killer from www.crabgrassalert.com is the best. I use it on my St. Augustine in S. GA and although it does discolor the grass and maybe kill some blades, it really takes care of the crabgrass in the summer. I am ordering another bottle today because I have already gone through one this summer.
