How do i change the oil on my lawnmower?

Question:oil change.

Answers:
If this is a typical push-mower (not a riding type), there will be a drain plug on the bottom of the engine. It would be best to set the mower up on blocks, saw horses or whatever you can find to make it easy to get under it.

You will need a pan or bowl to catch the oil (about 1 quart). Remove the plug and the oil will drain out, replace the plug.
Put the mower on level ground and refill the oil. Newer mowers actually have a dipstick, older ones just have a small plug you remove and fill to a mark or groove (consult instruction manual if you have one). Most mowers will call for 30 weight oil.

Used oil should be taken to a recycling center or to any of the "quick lube" places.

Riding mower procedure is the same but some engines have the drain plug on the side of the engine near the bottom.

Considering that you paid $200 or more for the mower and a quart of oil is only about $2, it makes sense to change the oil often to keep the engine in good condition.

you specify what type of mower..riding mowers generally have and oil filter and needs to be changed when the oil is changed..standard mowers. Drain the from the filler cap and please a oil pan to drain into
