How do I get rid of chipmunks in my yard/basement?

Question:I don't neccesarily want to poison them but they freak me out. I live in Oh and don't think I can even trap and remove them. Should I call pest removers? Help!!

Answers:
Get, or borrow a cat!

if you find an answer...let me know...little suckers are tearing up and making holes in my mulch around my flowers...every day I fix it...and the next morning I wake up and they have done it all over again...grrrrrrrrrrrr
they are attracked to food in area or they are nesting there . clean up one of these and they will leave if they are in you r basement ,, that must mean they have found a crack in foundation ,it get down there . moth balls are good , wind flowers that make movement can maybe help ,,,, good luck
Set some traps for them.
charge them rent and they will leave
ALVIN, MELVIN AND THEADORE!...behave and leave this poor women alone
Take a five gallon pail and fill it half full with water. Cover the pail with saran wrap (not the new stuff that really seals tight) put a piece of wood like a 1 x 2 so they can walk up to get to the top. Sprinkle a little bird seed up the walk and then put some on top of the saran wrap. When they walk on the saran wrap they will fall in and drown. Problem solved!
try pureeing some super hot peppers mix with water and spray around the house and yard/plants..if this doesn't work call a pest remover and they might have a suggestion...
